Trudy Kennedy founded TruAccounting Services in 2016 after 16 years as a Shareholder/Director/CPA at other accounting firms. She founded TruAccounting Services to provide business owners with the highest level of financial guidance and support that not only relieves day-to-day financial management stress, but fuels business growth to the next success stage.
Trudy has assembled a full-service team that includes CPAs, controllers, accountants and bookkeepers with extensive experience to handle the growing financial management needs of expanding businesses. They allow business owners to focus on their core business and leave financial management to the pros! She provides the financial tools, analysis, and guidance so that business owners can make informed strategic decisions while growing their organizations.
Trudy’s first question of every business owner is, “Are you running your business, or is your business running you?”
Prior to becoming a CPA, Trudy was in secondary education. She holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Montana State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern State University.
Trudy is originally from South Dakota. When not serving clients, she enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren, visiting friends and relatives in South Dakota, gardening, hiking, biking, and a good glass of Pinot Noir.
Donna Blahovec is a CPA and accountant at TruAccounting Services. She prepares monthly financial reports, handles accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, depreciation and amortization schedules, and files tax reports accurately and efficiently for a variety of the firm’s clients.
Prior to joining TruAccounting Services, Donna held various financial management positions at a variety of organizations, and has volunteered as treasurer for many not-for-profit organizations. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota.
When not assisting clients, Donna enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She is Treasurer and Merit Badge counselor for a Boy Scout troop, and enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, and quilting. She is known as a “beer snob,” and is happy as long as the glass in front of her isn’t too “hoppy.”
Abel Dibaba is a staff accountant at TruAccounting Services. He prepares monthly financial reports, handles accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, depreciation and amortization schedules, and files tax reports accurately and efficiently for a variety of the firm’s clients.
Prior to entering the accounting field, Abel held supervisory and customer service positions in the travel and entertainment industries. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Metropolitan State University.
When not assisting clients, Abel enjoys spending time with his wife and beautiful daughter, and watching action and adventure movies, his favorite is “The Bourne Identity.” He keeps current on the latest business trends by immersing himself in business-related books and publications. He also enjoys travelling to his native Ethiopia to visit his extended family.
